The Drinks Library was launched last year as a collaboration between the Drinks Association and SKUvantage, and has rapidly become Australia’s industry solution for drinks product content. The majority of the Drinks Association members, have now moved their image libraries over to the platform, and are taking advantage of over 60% cost savings and an improved ability to share digital product content with their trading partners.
The Drinks Library initiative and the associated services from SKUvantage respond to the emerging retailer need of additional product content across the whole range. Not only does this improve the online shopping experience and drive sales, but it also improves consumer engagement with the brands that invest in content used in the rapidly growing digital channels.
Drinks Library is an easy to use platform which enables brands to share any images, product attributes, digital assets and marketing content with retailers, agencies and other partners. Over 2,500 drinks products are now listed on the site, taking advantage of the opportunity to distribute such information as tasting notes, full product specifications and branding guidelines.
SKUvantage works closely with suppliers and retailers to ensure product content is presented in the best way online, and was recently engaged by Liquorland to capture product content across the range. By hosting images with Drinks Library, vendors can both contribute content to this project, and also make it available to the hundreds of online and traditional retailers accessing Drinks Library for image assets.
Online and offline retailers are making a major drive to increase range and quality of product content, as most recently illustrated with the launch of Woolworths’ The Wine Quarter. Drinks Library and SKUvantage services deliver a simple, cost effective solution to realise these opportunities. SKUvantage provide a range of photography services to suit all retailer requirements, from ecommerce to printed catalogue quality.
Using bespoke technology, content can be distributed into almost any internal platform without rekeying or manual uploading, saving time, money and ensuring consistency of presentation. Typical vendor applications for this content include brand web sites, field sales tools, direct to consumer ecommerce sites and soon, the Drinks Association Drinks Guide application. Drinks Library can also be used as a Digital Asset Management system, helping ensure the correct internal marketing assets are used in point of sale and marketing collateral, and reduce the need for multiple image management systems.
The Drinks Library initiative has been a resounding success, with regular positive feedback from members. It illustrates the Drinks Association driving value for its members, with improved business solutions and is an excellent example of how industry working together can deliver a solution that benefits all members and their retailer customers.
